Helmut Lang founded his namesake brand in 1986, becoming a pioneer in bringing street style to the runway. As a representative of 90s minimalism, he infused a blend of street sensibility and experimental minimalism into his designs, gaining recognition for his iconic denim, deconstructed silhouettes, and high-performance fabrics. Lang was known for integrating innovative materials into his creations. However, he left the brand in 2005.\n\nThis year, Vietnamese-American designer Peter Do was announced as the new creative director of Helmut Lang. With a mission to \"encourage individuals to express their personality,\" Do aims to carry on Helmut Lang's bold and radical design ethos.
