Richard Brendon, designer de produits originaire du Royaume-Uni, est dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 de l'universit\u00e9 de Kingston \u00e0 l'\u00e2ge de 24 ans. \u00c0 l'\u00e2ge de 25 ans, il d\u00e9cide d'utiliser la porcelaine de Chine britannique vieille de 300 \u00e0 400 ans comme mat\u00e9riau principal pour cr\u00e9er sa propre marque \u00e9ponyme, faisant revivre ce mat\u00e9riau britannique ancien \u00e0 travers le vocabulaire du design contemporain.
Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa curiosit\u00e9 naturelle, le jeune Richard a une excellente capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 appr\u00e9cier ces vieilles pi\u00e8ces du pass\u00e9, et ce talent lui a permis de r\u00e9interpr\u00e9ter intuitivement la porcelaine noble et classique d'origine, et sous la forme d'un style moderne, il a trouv\u00e9 un tout nouveau style pour l'artisanat traditionnel britannique vieux de plusieurs si\u00e8cles, et s'est \u00e0 nouveau \u00e9panoui dans la simplicit\u00e9 et l'\u00e9l\u00e9gance.
Fond\u00e9 en 2012, Richard Brendon s'est non seulement concentr\u00e9 sur le design des arts de la table en l'espace de quatre ans, mais aussi sur la revitalisation de l'artisanat britannique traditionnel, tous ses produits en porcelaine fine \u00e9tant fabriqu\u00e9s \u00e0 la main par des artisans de premier plan \u00e0 Stoke-on-Trent, berceau de la porcelaine \u00e0 l'os au Royaume-Uni. \"J'ai discut\u00e9 avec les artisans pour savoir comment ils travaillent, ce qu'ils peuvent faire et ce qu'ils ne peuvent pas faire. Je me suis pench\u00e9e sur leurs travaux ant\u00e9rieurs et j'ai essay\u00e9 de voir s'ils pouvaient faire quelque chose de plus beau. Parfois, il est important de remettre en question la fa\u00e7on dont ils fabriquent les choses depuis longtemps\", explique le designer. C'est ce que dit la cr\u00e9atrice, et c'est cette exigence de perfection qui a permis aux pi\u00e8ces n\u00e9es du croisement du pass\u00e9 et du pr\u00e9sent d'\u00eatre reconnues par les grands magasins de luxe tels que Lane Crawford et Bergdorf Goodman.
Cependant, la s\u00e9rie de produits la plus populaire de Richard Brendon, la s\u00e9rie \"Reflect\", est le travail de fin d'\u00e9tudes de Richard \u00e0 l'universit\u00e9 de Kingston. Il s'est inspir\u00e9 des soucoupes en porcelaine de Chine qu'il a vues sur les march\u00e9s du monde entier, ces pr\u00e9cieuses th\u00e9i\u00e8res en porcelaine de Chine qui, faute de tasses assorties, perdent leur valeur d'origine, ce qui d\u00e9sole le concepteur. Il a utilis\u00e9 le principe de la r\u00e9flexion pour refl\u00e9ter les magnifiques motifs des assiettes originales sur les surfaces r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissantes des tasses, ce qui a non seulement permis aux d\u00e9licates impressions de revenir sur les tasses, mais a \u00e9galement donn\u00e9 l'impression qu'elles avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 perfectionn\u00e9es dans le pass\u00e9.
