5IVE SIS
In Thailand, the brand 5ive siS is celebrated as the "jewelry-grade tinware," with roots tracing back to 1903. It was founded by Zheng Banren, a Chinese immigrant who, along with his father, established a jewelry workshop called "Thai Kee" in the ancient capital of Ayutthaya. They quickly gained a reputation for their exquisite craftsmanship, focusing on custom jewelry production. As time passed, the young and visionary Zheng Banren began creating beautiful tinware, which became increasingly popular. He eventually renamed "Thai Kee" to "Thai Chibo," starting to craft jewelry and tinware for royal family members. By 1953, Thai Chibo's tinware was presented as tribute to the royal family and was favored by King Bhumibol Adulyadej, earning the title of royal warrant holder and becoming the designated gift for foreign dignitaries. This established the brand as a representative of Thailand's top craftsmanship. Generations later, Zheng Banren's granddaughter took over the family business, reshaping this classic brand with a fresh, international perspective. Inspired by her five daughters, she renamed the brand 5ive siS. Through continuous innovation, she incorporated crystals, ceramics, and colorful enamels into natural gemstones and tinware, merging the family’s illustrious history with art. This exploration of tin craftsmanship has won 5ive siS its reputation as jewelry-grade tinware. To achieve the highest quality, artisans at 5ive siS must accumulate over ten years of experience before crafting royal vessels for the Thai king. These craftsmen practice extensively through intricate processes such as welding, polishing, engraving, sandblasting, and maintaining the unique properties of tin, which purifies water and preserves freshness, thus transforming ordinary tin into stunning works of art. 5ive siS has also collaborated with top designers from Europe and Thailand to blend the rich Siamese culture with modern craftsmanship, creating exquisite and elegantly soft artistic products. Their classic items, such as the "tin can that preserves tea flavors," "tea sets that retain the aroma," and "wine vessels that enhance taste," have won multiple Red Dot Design Awards and Thailand's Art and Design Awards, establishing 5ive siS as an internationally renowned Thai legendary brand.
