LEMAIRE
“It’s all about cutting” perfectly captures the essence of the French designer brand Lemaire. With no extravagant fabrics or complex embellishments, Christophe Lemaire stands as a refreshing presence in today’s chaotic fashion world, nurturing all those souls seeking freedom. He believes fashion must reflect the realities of the world, creating a relationship of trust with the wearer. Christophe focuses on the details often overlooked by others, prioritizing practicality over fleeting trends, allowing true elegance to seamlessly integrate into Lemaire’s collections and infusing everyday life with enchanting poetry. The core values of the brand stem from Christophe’s unwavering beliefs, having founded his eponymous label in 1991. After facing several challenging years in the market, he decided to pause production in 2003 to serve as creative director at Lacoste. It wasn’t until 2006, when he met Sarah Linh-Tran, that he was encouraged to re-enter the fashion scene, gradually regaining his prominence. By 2010, he was invited to become the creative director of the classic French brand Hermès. Sarah, who serves as both a muse and soulmate, later joined the team to oversee brand image. With her, the brand evolved, characterized by fluid and airy lines that exude a refined and light quality, echoing a sense of tranquility. Sarah candidly shares that when conceptualizing each garment, she envisions a “better self,” drawing inspiration from both past classics and contemporary Parisian streets. The sparks of life they experience together reflect their shared vision, marking their unique synergy. In 2015, Christophe officially rebranded as “Lemaire,” signaling the brand’s transition into a collaborative designer era.
