Neil Barrett, a British fashion designer born in a family of tailors, graduated from Central St. Martin's College in London in 1990, and his graduation work caught the attention of Tom Ford, who was then hired as a menswear designer for GUCCI for five years, and then became the director of men's design at PRADA in 1995, where he started a wave of high fashion menswear with his minimalist design style.

Neil Barrett started his eponymous label with a menswear collection in 1999 and debuted his womenswear collection at Milan Fashion Week in 2006.
