KOLOR Pop-Up Store

Founded by Japanese designer Junichi Abe, kolor has gained international acclaim since 2004 for its use of soft fabrics, colorful tie-dye prints, and Japanese folk styles. Known for its attention to detail, kolor's meticulous tailoring has won the admiration of fashion icon Nick Wooster. In an interview, Wooster mentioned that kolor is one of the brands that has most impressed him recently. Whether it's jackets, trousers, or comfortable shorts, the artistic design structure of kolor's pieces has become a part of his wardrobe collection, highlighting the brand's compelling allure.

Before founding his own brand, Junichi Abe was a key figure within the Comme des Garçons family. During his time with Rei Kawakubo, he was responsible for the design of tricot Comme des Garçons collections and also worked with Junya Watanabe's team. After departing from Kawakubo's fashion empire, Abe made his debut on the Paris Fashion Week runway with his own creations, competing alongside many seasoned designers in the esteemed fashion capital. While kolor's men’s and women’s collections may not showcase the explicit deconstruction found in Comme des Garçons, the brand embodies a continuity of gender fluidity and color patchwork. The blend of warm, Japanese folk-inspired hues and patchwork exemplifies the essence of kolor, reflecting its distinctive spirit in a harmonious and innovative way.

From March 14 to April 3, kolor will be hosting a three-week Pop-up Store on the second floor of Breeze Xinyi, showcasing their Spring/Summer 2016 men’s and women’s collections. This Taipei pop-up shop, co-curated with onefifteen, marks kolor's second major event following their collaboration with a renowned Japanese multi-brand store last month. Designer Junichi Abe has specially crafted new visual imagery for this pop-up, offering fashion enthusiasts in Taiwan an exclusive opportunity to engage closely with the master's work.
