Traveling with the little fox!
Maison Kitsuné's new Creative Director for Spring/Summer 2026 creates a travelogue of Paris.

Maison Kitsuné's Spring/Summer 2026 collection, a fusion of Parisian and Tokyo cultures, is the first to be created by new Creative Director Abigail Smith, with "Travellers in Paris" as the core concept. Through the perspective of a Japanese traveler rediscovering Paris, the collection embarks on a contemporary journey that intertwines culture, art, and the cityscape. The concept of "Travelers in Paris" is the first of its kind for the brand.

Continuing Maison Kitsuné's twin-city spirit of 'Paris-Tokyo', this season's collection is titled 'Voyage Vestiaire', which blends Parisian elegance with Japanese sophistication, striking a balance between the familiar and the fresh. Abigail Smith draws on her deep international fashion experience and understanding of the brand's DNA to reinterpret the silhouette, creating a modern closet that is both functional and poetic, depicting the style of a contemporary Parisian traveler.

In terms of style, the Spring/Summer 2026 collection is characterized by sleek silhouettes that emphasize wearability for both day and night. The menswear collection reinterprets the classic Parisian academic style through precise tailoring and functional fabrics, while the womenswear collection strikes a balance between structure and mobility, echoing the rhythm of modern urban life. Outerwear items such as trench coats, overalls, and functional jackets incorporate details derived from hunting and fishing apparel, a subtle blend of practicality and urban elegance.

Material and craftsmanship are also one of the highlights of this season. From crinkled cotton poplin, Japanese blended cotton to lightweight technical fabrics, the rich use of fabrics enhances the overall wearing comfort, while giving the garments a three-dimensional structure and delicate texture. The color palette is inspired by the soft light of a Parisian summer afternoon, with earth tones, light greens and light pinks, paired with prints that are rich in cultural imagery, creating a poetic and artistic visual language.

The theme of "Travellers in Paris" extends to the design of totems and prints, inspired by the architectural landscape of Paris, gallery culture and Art Nouveau fonts. The symbols of the city, including the Royal Palace, the Rue de l'Arcade and the Place de la Concorde, are transformed into stamp-like graphic memories, symbolizing the traveler's collection of Parisian observations and emotions, while the abstract fox totem is combined with the visual language of the art exhibition to present the brand's iconic style that is equal parts humor and elegance.

This season also sees the launch of the Savoir-Faire capsule collection, which further demonstrates Maison Kitsuné's dedication to high-end craftsmanship. The combination of French and Japanese craftsmanship in the creation of leather jackets, trench coats, denim trousers and knitwear is a limited-edition design that demonstrates the brand's exquisite pursuit of material use and craftsmanship, and symbolizes an important milestone in its journey towards a higher end of the fashion world.

Continuing the spirit of crossover creativity, this season Maison Kitsuné is expanding its diverse and cross-cultural creative landscape by collaborating with Japanese denim brand KURO, Hong Kong eyewear brand A. SOCIETY and French children's wear brand Bonpoint, ranging from apparel and accessories to lifestyle. Since its founding in 2002, Maison Kitsuné has continued to weave a unique universe of fashion, music and lifestyle, and the Spring/Summer 2026 collection not only marks a new beginning for Creative Director Abigail Smith, but also reinforces the brand's core ethos of being based in Paris and Tokyo - moving between classic and innovative. The Spring/Summer 2026 collection not only marks a new beginning for Creative Director Abigail Smith, but also reinforces the brand's core ethos, based in Paris and Tokyo, of moving between the classic and the innovative, and evolving through cultural encounters to create a contemporary lifestyle imagination.
