MAISON KITSUNÉ Teams Up with NANGA to Launch a Collaborative Capsule Collection
Spanning the wilderness and the city, this collection opens a new chapter in outdoor functionality and urban fashion.
Maison Kitsuné has teamed up with Japanese outdoor brand NANGA to create a new collaborative collection that combines both brands’ unique perspectives on contemporary everyday wear. Drawing on NANGA’s expertise in down products and functional outerwear, the collection bridges the gap between outdoor exploration and urban living, reinterpreting contemporary style that seamlessly blends practical functionality with fashion-forward aesthetics.
Drawing inspiration from majestic mountain ranges and reinterpreting them through an urban lens, the collection weaves together the serene atmosphere of snow-capped peaks with the warm emotions of everyday moments spent together, weaving them into a unique lifestyle aesthetic that bridges the wilderness and the city.

Function-First: Creating an Outdoor Aesthetic
Moving seamlessly between the great outdoors and urban life, functional jackets showcase a fresh design language. With practical functionality at its core, NANGA’s deep technical expertise is infused into every aspect—from garment silhouettes and material selection to the finest details—reinterpreting classic outdoor elements and seamlessly integrating functional design into the contemporary everyday wardrobe. Centered around down jackets, this collaborative collection features two signature pieces: a down vest and a down jacket.
Featuring classic black and soft off-white as the main tones, with subtle accents of vibrant red that add visual highlights to the entire collection. Each piece strikes a perfect balance between protective functionality and a clean, contemporary design, showcasing a unique style that combines practicality with fashion-forward flair. The collection also features a range of knit casual pieces, with original graphic designs paying homage to Nanga Parbat in the Himalayas—the majestic peak that inspired the name of the Japanese brand NANGA.
The accessories collection includes items such as nylon hats, down hats, and down boots. In a particularly ingenious twist, NANGA has scaled down its most iconic sleeping bag design transforming it into a fun and practical cell phone pouch, infusing classic outdoor gear with unexpected creativity. Additionally, the down collection pays homage to NANGA’s brand history dating back to 1941.Its predecessor, “Yokota Sewing,” was founded in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan, and initially began by manufacturing Japanese-style bedding. As its craftsmanship continued to improve, the company gradually expanded its expertise to outdoor gear and accumulated extensive experience in the research and development of down products, striving to create high-quality products that are lightweight, warm, and durable.

Building on NANGA’s outdoor expertise, this collaborative collection integrates exceptional functionality throughout its design while incorporating Maison Kitsuné’s distinctive Parisian fashion aesthetic, infusing professional outdoor apparel with a fresh, contemporary style. From towering peaks to bustling city streets, the collection extends the spirit of outdoor exploration into everyday life. Designed not only for diverse environments but also with an eye toward the rhythm of life as people effortlessly transition between the wilderness and the city, it embodies a contemporary lifestyle that harmoniously blends functionality and style.
