MAISON KITSUNÉ returns to Paris Fashion Week after a seven-year hiatus.
Presented at headquarters in Paris: Fall/Winter 2026 collection

After a seven-year hiatus, Maison Kitsuné has officially returned to the official schedule of Paris Fashion Week.

The brand unveiled its Fall/Winter 2026 collection at its headquarters in the heart of Paris, near Grands Boulevards, in an immersive presentation that straddled the Paris and Tokyo lines, announcing that this lifestyle brand is entering a more mature and complete new phase.

The presentation was held in the atrium of Maison Kitsuné's Paris headquarters, where models moved naturally among the viewers under a large glass roof. A moss-covered rock installation was placed in the center of the venue, and DJ Leopold's live performance ran throughout the entire event. Music, clothing, and space occurred simultaneously, fully embodying the brand's long-standing core spirit—coffee, music, and fashion intertwined to create a real-life lifestyle world.

Models walked naturally through the atrium of the Paris headquarters, with music, clothing, and space happening simultaneously, creating an immersive experience in the style of Maison Kitsuné.

A key step under the leadership of the new creative director

This season marks Creative Director Abigail Smiley-Smith's second collection for Maison Kitsuné, and her first time presenting the brand's vision in its entirety on the official Paris Fashion Week schedule. International media widely regard this presentation as a significant turning point for Maison Kitsuné under her leadership, showcasing a more cohesive collection that demonstrates a clear and confident brand direction.

This presentation not only marks Maison Kitsuné's return to the official schedule of Paris Fashion Week after a seven-year hiatus, but also symbolizes a significant turning point for the brand under its new creative director.

Brand co-founder Gildas Loaëc stated:

Abigail brings more craftsmanship, creativity, and narrative ability, allowing us to present a modern wardrobe with clear silhouettes and a compelling story. We call ourselves Maison because we own our own ateliers. Returning to the official Paris Fashion Week schedule allows the brand to be seen by the world once again.

Paris × Tokyo: A Dual Language of City and Nature

In clothing design, Smiley-Smith continues and deepens Maison Kitsuné's long-standing Paris-Tokyo cultural dual axis. This season's inspiration comes from the highly concentrated cultural energy of Paris and the closeness to the outdoors and nature in Tokyo's urban life—with Mount Fuji as a daily backdrop, making "getting close to nature" a part of life.

This lifestyle also reflected in the design vocabulary of the series.

The collection uses knitwear, outerwear, and denim as the core of the wardrobe, creating silhouettes that combine a sense of coverage with mobility through fluffy and soft alpaca knitwear and well-structured functional outerwear.

Upgraded materials create a truly wearable modern wardrobe.

This season, Maison Kitsuné has significantly strengthened its material selection, using higher-quality cashmere, alpaca, and Japanese functional fabrics to achieve a balance between functionality and texture in the overall wardrobe.

This season clearly emphasizes material selection, striking a balance between functionality and texture to create a truly wearable modern wardrobe.

Outerwear and bomber jackets feature slingback straps, while water-repellent jackets, down jackets, and fleece pieces offer practical solutions for both urban living and outdoor mobility. The collection also continues the brand's long-standing, key element—preppy aesthetics—with evolving motifs on baseball jackets, denim jackets, and T-shirts, retaining brand identity while exuding a more mature and understated style.

The spirit of the fox: a return to the everyday and humor.

As a symbol of Maison Kitsuné, the fox appears this season in a freer, more playful way, yet without being childish. Alpaca headgear with fox ears becomes one of the collection's memorable features, but the overall design remains restrained and mature.

In response, Abigail Smiley-Smith stated:

Clothes don't need to be overly sanctified; they should be worn and used in daily life—that's what matters most.

Lifestyle is always the core.

During the launch event, models walked naturally holding Café Kitsuné coffee cups, accompanied by live music performed by DJs from the Kitsuné music label. The details were not just about the styling, but a concrete representation of the brand's stance.

For Maison Kitsuné, clothing is never an isolated element, but rather an integral part of their lifestyle.

Smiley-Smith further pointed out:

Music and coffee are the gateways to the brand's world. I want everyone to feel like they are a part of it; this inclusivity is at the main purpose of Maison Kitsuné.

With the unveiling of its Fall/Winter 2026 collection, Maison Kitsuné returns to the Paris Fashion Week stage with a more mature, coherent, and long-term vision.

This is not just a series of presentations, but a clear declaration of the future direction of a brand spanning Paris and Tokyo.
