YVES SALOMON

The renowned French fur brand Yves Salomon boasts a century-long legacy, spanning four generations and earning its reputation as a fur dynasty. The Salomon family's connection to fur dates back to the 1910s, when Gregory Salomon, a fur dealer from Siberia, made the pivotal decision to immigrate to Paris in the 1920s. His unique vision led him to diversify the fur trade in France. By the 1980s, the brand passed to the third generation, Yves Salomon, who began collaborating with various fashion designers, producing furs for well-known brands and officially launching his own label, “Yves Salomon.” The high-quality furs attracted collaborations with international luxury brands like Sonia Rykiel, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, and Louis Vuitton. Notably, the innovative designer Jean-Paul Gaultier partnered with the brand from the very first season of haute couture, exploring the limitless possibilities of fur. 2014 marked a significant year in the brand's history, as Yves Salomon opened an independent boutique in Paris and expanded to cities like Madrid and New York. Today, Yves Salomon has developed six distinct lines, including “Yves Salomon,” “Yves Salomon Homme,” and “Army.” Each collection utilizes the finest materials such as squirrel, mink, fox, and badger fur, employing various design techniques and fabric combinations to express a fashionable style. The Army collection seamlessly integrates military concepts into classic French elegance, featuring relaxed cuts that blend fur with casual styles. This approach not only demystifies the traditionally opulent perception of fur but also highlights the quality of life in a subtle yet sophisticated manner.
